Why Use Our TIFF to PDF Converter?

The easiest way to turn scans, faxes and TIFF images into a PDF you can share.

    Lightning Fast

Most scans convert in a few seconds. There is no upload and no queue to wait for.

    100% Free

No hidden fees, no sign-up and no watermark. Convert as many TIFF files as you need, completely free.

    Privacy First

Your images are converted entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or shared on our servers.

    Multi-Page TIFF Support

Every page of a multi-page TIFF becomes a page of the PDF. Add several files and combine them all into one document.

    Lossless Quality

Pages keep their exact pixels, with no JPEG blur. Black-and-white scans are stored at 1 bit per pixel, so the PDF stays small.

    True Page Sizes

The page size comes from the resolution saved in the TIFF, so a 300 dpi scan of an A4 page becomes an A4 PDF page. Sideways scans are turned upright.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a TIFF to PDF?

Upload your TIFF or TIF file, keep the page size on "Same as the image" or choose a paper size, and click Convert & download PDF. Every page of the TIFF becomes a page of the PDF, and the file is saved to your device.

Does it support multi-page TIFF files?

Yes. Every page of a multi-page TIFF becomes a separate page of the PDF, in the same order. You can also add several TIFF files and combine all of their pages into one PDF.

What is the difference between TIFF and TIF?

None. TIFF and TIF are two file extensions for the same format, Tagged Image File Format. The three-letter .tif comes from older systems that limited extensions to three characters. This tool accepts both.

Will the image quality be preserved?

Yes. By default every page is stored losslessly, so the PDF holds exactly the same pixels as the TIFF. Black-and-white scans are stored at 1 bit per pixel and greyscale images in grey, which keeps the file small. If you need a smaller file and can accept some compression, choose "Smaller file (JPEG)" for colour and greyscale pages.

What page size will my PDF have?

With "Same as the image", each page gets the physical size saved in the TIFF. A 2550 × 3300 pixel scan at 300 dpi becomes a US Letter page, and a 300 dpi A4 scan becomes an A4 page. You can also choose A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3 or A5. The image is then scaled to fit the page, without cropping or distortion, and the orientation can follow each image.

Can I add margins to the PDF pages?

Yes. Choose a small (¼ in), medium (½ in) or large (1 in) margin, and the image is placed inside it on every page.

Which TIFF compression types are supported?

Uncompressed TIFF and the common compressions: LZW, PackBits, Deflate (ZIP), JPEG, and CCITT Group 3 and Group 4, which is what most scanners and fax software use. Black-and-white, greyscale, palette, RGB and CMYK images are all supported. JPEG 2000, JBIG and BigTIFF files are not, and the tool tells you when a file uses one of them.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Your TIFF files are read and converted by your own browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, so nothing is stored or shared.

Can I convert PNG or JPEG images to PDF too?

Yes. Use our free PNG to PDF or JPEG to PDF converter. Both combine several images into one PDF in the same way.

How can I make the PDF smaller?

Choose "Smaller file (JPEG)" before converting, which compresses colour and greyscale pages. To shrink a PDF you already have, use our free Compress PDF tool.
